This socio-economic impact assessment of the benefits of Buskett and its surrounding area is part of the requirements of the LIFE Saving Buskett Project (LIFE12 NAT/MT/00182).
This action required a study detailing the fundamental natural elements of the area and where possible quantifying the socio-economic benefits with respect to each and every ecosystem service. In addition, a post-assessment was carried out to assess the effectiveness of the actions undertaken in Buskett in dealing with the threats faced by the site and in safeguarding the socio-economic and environmental benefits of Buskett.
The study required meetings with residents of the villages nearby (First link) and also an event at the end of the project to present the final findings (Second link).
