A Socio-Economic Impact Assessment of the Aquifer Recharge Project a Pwales
Energy and Water Agency (EWA)
This study presents a socio-economic assessment of Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) scheme implementation at the Pwales Valley aquifer system (EWA/189/2018) to improve the qualitative and quantitative status of the groundwater body. This project is undertaken by the Water Services Corporation (WSC), in collaboration with the Energy and Water Agency (EWA). The objective is to determine what and how existing ecosystem services will be affected by the implementation of this LIFE project. This is undertaken through an assessment of the social and economic benefits provided by the Pwales area and the extent to which the proposed intervention, the recharge of the Pwales aquifer, positively contribute to this site.
