A study compiled for the Malta Maritime Forum on the potential of the Maritime Sector towards the Growth and the development of the Maltese Economy. The study defines and analyses the current and future potential of the Maritime Sector towards the growth and development of the Maltese Economy in terms of the generation of value-added and employment, including recommendations for policy initiatives for the continuous success of the Maritime Sector.
This report presents high-level policy recommendations based on a case study approach to address the competitiveness gaps identified through an analysis of Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) pertaining to the Maritime Sector. Furthermore, a recommendation is proposed for the creation of a National Framework for the Maritime Sector in Malta to bring together all the different maritime industries for better use of resources as a way forward.
